Bev Armbruster’s birthday gift from a friend turned into something quite spectacular. Bev, who lives in Melville, Saskatchewan, received birthday wishes in the mail from Stettler, Alberta. Inside she discovered a $20 PLAYER’S CHOICE MEGA PACK containing 10 SCRATCH ’N WIN lottery tickets as a birthday gift. The pack was purchased in Stettler, Alberta at Pharmasave, located at 4931-50th Street.  After scratching all the tickets in the pouch, Bev thought she hadn’t won any prize. Realizing there is a winner in every pouch, she decided to take her tickets to a lottery Retailer in Melville to be checked.

Life threatening injuries PDF Print E-mail

A 47 year old male that was taken to the Stettler Hospital with life threatening injuries on December 11, 2011. The male was transported to Red Deer Regional Hospital by ground ambulance and then airlifted to the University of Alberta Hospital via STARS. The injured male sustained serious wounds as a result of a beating during a home invasion in Donalda, Alberta.
The Bashaw RCMP with the assistance of Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton General Investigation Section are continuing their investigation.  Bashaw RCMP Detachment Commander,  Sgt. Geoff Buxcey says this was a targeted assault on the victim and there appears to be no risk to public safety.

The Community Engagement and Inclusion Branch of Alberta Culture and Community Services has awarded Village of Clive resident Louise Bell with a Certificate of Recognition based on her outstanding community involvement and her commitment and achievements as a volunteer.  “Your ongoing dedication and commitment to your community and fellow community members has not gone unnoticed and is greatly appreciated,” stated Pat Blakney, Director of Community Engagement and Inclusion Branch, in a letter to Louise Bell.
“Upon learning I had been nominated,” stated Louise Bell, “I was truly honoured and humbled at the same time.  
“I sincerely thank you for considering me worthy of this nomination.”
