Clearview Public School Board is sending an Embedded Professional Development (PD)  Survey to all parents/guardians, teachers, and school based staff, in an attempt to review the PD program that has been running for its third year in the district.
It is a three year pilot project, initiated by the Principals group to enhance professional and  student learning, in its third and final year.
The Clearview Public School Board is pursuing feedback in order to begin planning for next year.
“We really want to know what the staff and parents think about the program,” said Superintendent of Schools, John Bailey.
Teaching staff have been meeting two Mondays each month for one hour of professional development.
“Research shows that regular, frequent, collaborative and relevant opportunities for professional learning,” said Bailey, “are most effective for staff development and consequently for student learning.”
“We really encourage parents and school staff to go on our website or their local school’s website to participate in the survey.”
If anyone does not have access to the internet, they can contact their local school’s office to receive a printed copy of the survey.
All surveys must be completed by the February 10, 2010 deadline.
Notice letters to Parents/Guardians were sent home with students during the week of January 25.
If you have not received your letter, please contact your school office.
