The Hamlet of Cadogan, Alberta is located near Highway 600, between Highways 899 and 41, south of Highway 13 and is close to Capt. Ayre Lake and Hills of Peace Campground.
It is located in the Municipal District of Provost No. 52,  in east-central Alberta, which is a thriving rural municipality that also encompasses the  other Hamlets  and Villages.  The community is active and has recently re-established an annual rodeo that draws cowboys both from the district and across Western Canada in late spring.
The hamlet has 132 people enjoying country-style living and also boasts a modern community hall.  The economic base in the M.D. is primarily agriculture, oil and gas.   The main service centre of the area is the Town of Provost.  The diverse geography of the region attracts many wildlife enthusiasts to the district.   There are a wide range of fields and streams with migrating birds, rolling hills and wooded willow stands, etc.   There are also many recreation areas which provide bird-watching, boating, fishing, golfing, hunting,  swimming opportunities and several historical sites of interest to visitors.
