Rose Authenac already knows exactly what she’ll do with her $100,000 Extra lottery win!  She has plans in the works to take her grandchildren to Disneyland, to help her grandson who lives with a physical disability and to bank the rest.  The resident of Standard purchased three six dollar Lotto Max tickets with Extra entered for the June 18 draw from Strathmore Value Drug Mart.  While in Sherwood Park, Rose purchased one Lotto 6/49 ticket with the Extra entered for the May 29 draw from Highway 21 Esso.  It wasn’t until just a few days ago that Rose remembered to check her ticket.  When she saw all those zeros she said, “I was shocked!”  The Big Valley resident exactly matched the last six digits on the Extra to win the game’s second top prize!

Marjan Lenart will take on the duties as principal of the Big Valley School.   He is currently working at Valley View School in Beauval, Saskatchewan as Vice Principal and Career/Transitions Teacher.Lenart began his career as a Physical Education, Language Arts and Social Studies teacher on an isolated First Nations village in British Columbia.  He decided to return home to Ontario where he worked as a secondary school teacher with the Toronto District School Board for almost 20 years. 
Wishing to explore teaching overseas, Lenart ventured to  Malaysia to teach at Taylor’s College. While in Hong Kong, he served as teacher/consultant with the Hong Kong Education Department. Returning to Canada in 2008, he worked as an instructor at St. Charles Adult Learning Centre in Hamilton while attending the University of Toronto to obtain his Principals’ Qualifications.  Lenart completed his graduate studies in Educational Administration at the University of Toronto in 2004. 
“Being hired as Principal of Big Valley School is a welcome challenge and opportunity in my professional growth,” said Lenart.  “I look forward to moving to this wonderful part of Alberta and to the coming school year. “To make the transition as smooth as possible, I will be relying heavily on established best practices and continuous collaboration with all involved in supporting the school’s vision and mission statement.”
